The Power of Creativity

Creativity is the juice that fuels our brilliance. In our business and in our jobs we get so programmed to do things the same ways that we stifle our own creativity. Chances are it was that creative idea that got you into that business.

Think back to the times in your life when you had great insight or an innovative idea. What were you doing? More than likely your mind was relaxing, maybe you were driving, fishing or riding your bike.

How do we get more creative?

  • Do something creative – gardening, cooking, woodworking
  • Exercise – walking, jogging
  • Read and follow The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron
  • Keep a journal – write those ideas down
  • Try something new – eat at a new restaurant
  • Be more childlike and play regularly
  • Spend time in nature
  • Have a positive and what are the possibilities attitude

Not everyone is a Picasso but we are all creative. If you have trouble believing you are creative substitute the word creative with innovative.

Expanding your creative thinking is a wise investment. Remember every business and every product was once a mere thought!
